Only an Eighteen Month Hiatus!

The Hollywood Sign has a terrifying pre-recorded announcement keeping you away if you get too close!
Elly, Cody, and Noah at the San Diego Zoo!
Hello Family et. al.

Well, I've been wanting to Blog for a while, and I keep putting it off for no good reason . . . so I'm going to try and get better about it. It's been just over 5 months since moving into our apartment, and things are going well. First, some things I've seen from our front window:

A crazy person taking a dump on the sidewalk (day 1)
A fire raging on the hill across the street (amazing and terrifying to see palm trees burning!)
A bomb squad investigation (laterally in front of our apartment-a jerry-rigged car bomb-we were evacuated, but no boom!)
Michael Jackson's funeral procession (actually had to walk to the end of the block for that one)
The Miracle of Life (a birds nest out of our bedroom window)

Bomb Threats aside, this has been a great apartment so far. We're close to a busy street, but the car noise has become less bothersome (read: more tolerated), and the occasional band practice downstairs can be a nuisance, but the space is wonderful. Elly and Branden (and friends) were our first guests, which was wonderful, and next weekend, the Lane Ladies are spending a night or two.

I've been auditioning like mad, and have booked a few small things . . . more details to come. I've also been consuming biographies, both auto and non . . . most recently finishing Montgomery Clift, and moving on to Eliza Kazan. The weather here is constantly awesome, and I've put a lot of miles on the bike. This coming Monday, I start my third session with the Groundlings, and have very much enjoyed classes there. Monday's a busy one . . . Filming a viral video (where I get to dress up as a caveman-complete with facial prosthetics) starting at 3 in the morning, then an audition for a short film, then Groundlings class, then a commercial audition, then bootcamp in the pm. That's the way life seems to go . . . Nothing for days, then EVERYTHING on one day.

Well, we're off to a BBQ in Santa Monica this evening, so I'm signing out. I'm going to make an effort to give more regular and in-depth updates here though.

Love to all, and can't wait to see you again!

MAY 3RD

Hello Family-

Some Thoughts . . . I was going to send this in an Email, but for whatever reason, it's comin' at you bloggity-style! So, I believe that I'm going to be in CO Feb 20-29 . . . Denver for Wednesday th 20th-Friday the 22nd, CO Springs Friday-Sunday 24th, then Hopefully Durango after that.

Then I'll be back in Denver March 26th-April 6 (plus another week, if I can swing it!).

In between these dates, I'll be doing a lot of cross travel, so I'm hoping I can leave a "storage bag" at one of our safehouses in Denver.

Now for some Specifics: The Rockies Home Opener is on my Birthday again, and I'd love to go if anyone is available . . . Friday April 4th . . . it's a 2pm game, and I have a show that night, but put it on your schedules!

Secondly, I was thinking it would be great if Team Lyman Did the MS Walk together in Denver on May 3rd. I don't have all the details yet, but that looks like the only Colorado walk that I can make . . . Boulder is the next weekend, but that's opening weekend for the Saints for me. There's information about it on the national MS website, and we're far enough out right now where we could probably make it happen!

So there's some scattered thoughts for everyone . . . love you and talk to you all soon!

SPOOKY TEAM LYMAN!!

Coast to Coast

Happy Feb. Everybody. I'm currently sitting in O'hare, awaiting a plane to Reno (via Las Vegas, and en route to Carson City . . . lucky 3's in Nevada!) All totaled, 8 hours delayed. Damn. I guess you all have gotten used to the heavy dumps of snow, but for us in the midwest, it's been more about the frigid cold. . . This pic is from a broomball game last Tuesday Night that with the windchill reached around -40!! I still don't have feeling in a couple of my fingers.

Two weeks ago, I was beach combin' on Key West! Pretty cool. I was only 90 miles from Cuba . . . and I'm pretty sure that I could smell the cigars. I rented a scooter for a couple of days to tour around the key. The Gulf on one side, and the Atlantic on the other. It was my first time in the "almost tropics", and it definitely took my breath away. I got just a taste of kayaking, and plenty of beach-walking. Oh yeah, the shows kicked ass as well.
From the Keys, it was off to St. Charles IL . . . on step closer to my dream of performing in every city on the Monopoly Board! The change in temp was expected, but still a shock. One day, I was wearing shorts and a "brooklyn T" staring at a prehistoric lizard, and the next day I was wearing 8 layers, and still freezing as I dug for a letterbox in the frozen Tundra!

Oh yeah, the show's rocked in St. Charles as well.

Whoops-gate change, might be leaving soon? Back to you, blog, later!

White on White

Hello Dudes- The biggest snow dump of the year happened over the last two day- probably a foot and a half of snow in town. The snow was interspersed with rain and sleet, so all of the white stuff on the ground was saturated roughly to the consistency and weight of half dry cement. The power was out for twelve hours. Mom and I were so bored without electronic stimuli (or coffee) that we attacked the driveway and sidewalks with our shovels and did battle with the odious and stiffening slush. The effort was confounded by the waist high wall of rock hard sludge skillfully erected around the full perimeter of where the road meets the driveway. Two hours later, bowed but victorious, all access to the public roads had been artfully restored. Re-remembering for the fourteenth time that the power was off, we drove downtown and had breakfast at Carvers. After breakfast we could hardly arise from our chairs, our backs and shoulders were so sore. And so we're home, the power is back on, and I'm about to hit the couch to watch the second playoff game (mom has taken a tub and is asleep) and in the name of all that is unfair, the channel on which the game is is out of commission due to the weather! Every other channel comes in perfectly. I guess god is telling me to read for a while- probably after a serious stretching session- my best hope for not being crippled for the next few days. Mom is getting a little bit frustrated about not video-chatting with any of you. We'll be home this (Sunday) evening, so if any of you reads this by then and is not otherwise inclined, give her a video buzz. Oops- just looked outside and its snowing again. Love you all- dad

short post

Hey guys! I don't have much to report except I've been really good about flossing and etc so far. Haven't missed one day. I think when I was in Italy I probably skipped 5 days of flossing &etc TOTAL over the course of my entire trip. I knkow it's not hard, it's even fast once you get in the practice of doing it.

Also, Branden and I cleaned our bedroom yesterday. It was ridiculously dirty, and I mean ridiculously, and now it looks really good! I'm very happy. We went out to a movie to celebrate. We saw Alien Versus Predator 2. If any of you saw AVP1, I have to tell you, this one was SO MUCH BETTER than the first. I mean, it's like the creators woke up from a prolonged drug binge, looked at the movie they'd made, and smacked themselves in the foreheads and immediately began working to rectify the situation. Anyway, it's very good for a good, old-fashioned, aliens killing people and each other sort of movie. :)

On Monday, ListenUp closed at 4 and were closed yesterday. Tomorrow is the first day of my weekend, but for now I'm a workin' stiff. :) I miss you guys! Love you all!
