Let it snow!

Hey Fam! Just a quick update. Friday, it started snowing, which is generally bad news in my job because it means 2 things: a shortage of service technicians (because they all have to shovel) and an increase in emergency service requests... So I wasn't looking forward to working on Saturday. However, the snow stopped nice and early on Friday and there was no need to worry.

Then, it started snowing on Saturday—for real this time. Good news for me because I have Sunday and Monday off! I coasted through a super-easy day. I went to Walmart after work and got some curtains for the bedroom (because the stupid Christmas lights outside my window do their best to pierce my eyelids every night), hung those bad boys up, and slept like a rock.

Sunday, B and I got up and built a Snow Cat! It was just the right kind of snow for snow sculptures but just a bit too wet for snow men, so we improvised and built a snow cat.

We also got a head start on wrapping presents this year. B & I are planning on having some sort of Christmas event with Griffin and Aaron before or after Christmas, depending on everyone's schedules, so that should be fun.

Well, that's all I've got, fambly. I love you all, can't wait to see you for Noah's Graduation!

News News News

Well, Fam Damily, Just thought I'd post on this-here thingie. I don't have a whole lot of news, but a couple of significant things you should probably know about.

#1: I'm having an MS "Flare-up." It really sucks. It's affecting my balance and vision, and thusly, my ability to do my schoolwork. Happily, I've already made arrangements with Disability Services at school, but I don't like getting behind.

On a related note, I'm STILL having issues with my insurance and getting my medication. Hopefully it's getting worked out, but... *shrug* who knows. I think they're out to get me.

#2: it snowed today for the first time (here)! It was way cool heading out to work and seeing all the snowflakes coming down. I think it's over and I don't think anything stuck, but in any case, it's like winter has decided to start instead of just freakin' cold fall.

#3: I really like school. I'm interested in the topics I'm learning, and I feel as if I'm on the right path. However, I am starting to feel like I should probably have waited a year before starting grad school. I forgot how burned out on school I was by the time I graduated--it would have been smart to work a crap job for a year to remind myself why going to school is good. No worries, fam, I'm going to ace this semester, but it may be that after this I'm going to take a year off.

Anyway, I think that the 'rents should be more vocal on this blog doo-hicky. You whippersnappers. Love you guys!

HAXX0R!

All right, so I hacked the blog--I logged in as Dad to publish one of his drafts to see if it would work. It did. (It is now down at January 4th--go read it.) Dad, for future reference, to edit and publish your saved drafts, log in as usual, then when you get to the dashboard, you'll see something to the right of "New Post" which says "Manage: Posts". Click on that, and then, above the list of posts, click on "Drafts." Then, click "Edit" to the left of the blog entry you want to publish, then at the bottom hit "publish". I hope that wasn't too complicated and helps your blogging experience.

Anyway, things have been pretty uneventful here in Boulder. When I got home, the drive that my computer's Operating System was on had fried, so my computer's out of service for now. Which explains my absence from the blog.

My symptoms have kept getting worse, it's really daunting to go up and down stairs, bend over and pick stuff up (I lose my balance a lot), and generally just move at all. I've been moving anyway. On Thursday Branden and I took a walk that was very nice. The snow has been daunting, though, because it's even harder to walk in and I'm afraid of falling over. But I'm trying to stay positive and active! Yesterday B and I went to Steph, Shad and Dan's house to watch a movie. Their street is never plowed, so we took a chance and parked (Branden's old car which Shad is loaning us, a tiny 20lb Geo Storm) on the unplowed, partially packed street. When the movie ended, we had to unearth the car--Branden and I pushed it out all by ourselves!! I was proud. It was hard work and rewarding. (I kinda hoped we were going to have to, because I like doing stuff like pushing cars out of snow.)

Anyway, Mama-llama's here now, we're going to my appointment tomorrow. Hopefully we'll know more, maybe I can get on medication quickly and start functioning somewhat normally again.

Love to everyone!!!
